Ajna in Sanskrit. Element: Light Color: Indigo (purples and dark blue)Your third eye is located on the center of the forehead right above your physical eyes. This center holds the energy for higher intuition and psychic abilities. Through this center you can receive the guidance and power to tune into your higher self. When Ajna is UNbalanced you may be afraid to succeed, going in the opposite direction or become non-assertive. Physical problems may include headaches, insomnia, panic depression, ear aches, blurred vision, and equilibrium dysfunction. When Ajna is aligned and BALANCED with your other chakras you will open up to truly understand that you are the creator of your reality and you will obtain higher states of consciousness. You will not be attached to material things and will have no problem learning. When Ajna is OVER-active you tend to have little sympathy, be judgmental and may experience frequent headaches in the temples and forehead caused by stress. When this center is UNDER-active you may find it difficult to understand the spiritual side of life and the connection between your outer and inner realities.

Exercise: Get into downward dog and take 3 deep breaths. Now lay your elbows on the floor and into Dolphin pose (pictured) Now take 4 deep breaths and with each exhale chant the mantra OM(AUM). Come down on your knees and take a break. Start from the top again and try to do this 4 times total. After this get into lotus. Now, close your eyes and repeat 5x
