Manipura in Sanskrit. Element: FireColor: Yellow or gold Your third Chakra, the Solar Plexus is located 2 inches below the breastbone in the center behind the stomach (below the ribcage). The third chakra is the center of personal power, the place of ego, passions, impulses anger and transformation. When the third Chakra is UNbalanced you may worry about what others think, feel others are controlling your life, lack confidence or may be depressed. Some physical problems include digestive difficulties, diabetes and food allergies. The Manipura not only governs the mental and emotional aspect of your psyche but also your "psychic" experiences.(often a "gut feeling" in a certain situation will benefit you greatly if you listen to it) When Manipura is BALANCED you will be completely in control of your thoughts, emotions and have no unwanted influence over your actions. If Third Chakra is OVER-active you may easily find fault in others. You may constantly plan to do things and never do and nothing will be good enough for you. If this Chakra is UNDER-active you may start to run on "auto-pilot" avoiding your feelings of depression or anxiety and you may constantly seek the approval of others. - - - - - - - - - - - - Boat pose is a great stretch that will help stimulate your Solar Plexus. Exercise: Lay flat stomach pressed on the ground with your arms flat aside of you and head rested on the ground/pillow. Close your eyes and repeat about 5x "I am confident and I am able to direct my own life". After this, grab your legs from behind and get into boat pose. Now take deep breaths and with every exhale for about 10 breaths chant "RAM" letting out breath as hard as you can. Doing this will help to open and align your Third Chakra.
