Svadisthana in Sanskrit. Element: Water Color: Orange Your second Chakra, the Sacral Chakra is located two inches below the navel and is rooted to the spine. The word Svadhisthana can be translated as "the dwelling place of the self". This center holds the basic needs for sexuality, creativity, and intuition. It governs our sense of self-worth, the confidence we have for our own creativity and our ability to relate to others in an open and friendly way. Also, the ability to accept others and new experiences. If your Sacral Chakra is in BALANCE you will feel the ability to flow with emotions freely and to reach out to others sexually or not. If your second chakra is BLOCKED you may become manipulative, emotionally explosive, you may have a lack of energy or become obsessed with thoughts of sex. Some physical problems that may emerge when blocked include muscle spasms, stiff lower back and kidney weakness. An OVER-active sacral chakra may cause you to be overly emotional. You will probably have an unhealthy attachment to people and will become upset or agitated if plans don't work out. You may also become addicted to sex and it might be a problem if in a relationship. If you have an UNDER-active sacral chakra you may deny yourself from things that can make you feel good (and you'll make up any excuse not to have something that you really want). You may lack creativity and suffer from chronic fatigue disorder. A sacral chakra that isn't properly functioning won't allow you to manifest what you desire because your thoughts and emotions tend to lean towards negativity. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Cobra and Folded butterfly are poses that can help stimulate Svadisthana.
