The meaning and uses for a Wand ❉

I absolutely love working with wands. I wake up in the morning, do some yoga, then I sit and meditate with my wand in hand repeating an affirmation in mind about 7 times. I'll usually also point the wand at my card deck with intention and do a personal oracle reading, which further increases my mental goal. I then grab my mala beads and repeat this affirmation 108 times while I pass through each bead around the necklace.

A wand is simply an energetic tool which focuses our subtle energy on the intent we choose to bring change in ourself, in others, and in one's environment. Wands have been used for many, many years, within various cultures throughout history. Wands can be made up of a multitude of materials including wood, metal, crystals, feathers and just about anything in which will conduct subtle energy. They will generally consist of a crystal point at the end. The energy flows through the wand and is directed out through the crystal to focus intent and bring about change.

Wood wands were, and still are, the most traditional choice. They possess a very natural and subtle flow of energy. From my research and experience I have found that it is best to sit with a tree and tap into your consiousness to ask the tree if you may take a live branch from it. If done thoughtfully this can be a magical experience. Although, I have noticed that the branches I occasionally pick up from around the tree are still full of so much energy and just need an energetic boost.

Metal wands usually consist of wire or metal rods to form the wand shape. Usually crystals and other energetic materials are added to bring different energy frequencies for different uses.

Crystal wands are usually made up from raw crystal form and may have other crystals in addition, blending their vibrations with that of the wand enabling positive change. Having wire spiraled around your wand can further amplify the energy it possesses.

Now, how to use a wand? Well first off, USE YOUR INTUITION. There is no right or wrong way to use your wand.

The wand is normally held in your right hand since energetically we receive energy through our left hand and give with the right. Focus your intent, whatever it may be, and direct the energy through the wand toward the recipient. If it is yourself, you may want to sit in lotus or on your knees on a pillow holding the wand in your hand, with the point facing up. You may use your wand to connect crystals on a grid or matrix, draw sacred symbols, charge a crystal, or to simply direct energy to a person, time, or place. One of the prime wand uses is for the art of healing. You may use your wand in whatever fashion you feel is best, it is yours and it will aid you in whichever way you ask it to. The wand may be used to point at wounds or energy blockages and healing energy will be directed in. Transmuting the negative energy around is very important. One way you can do this is calling on higher guidance for assistance while you direct the energy, creating spirals with the wand into a vortex focusing on it becoming of purple light. Wands may be used to open the chakras or balance our energy system. Or, like mentioned before, by sitting with the wand in hand pointed up to allow yourself into a deeper meditative state.

The wand is used to work with the element of air, which is associated with the mental body and the intellect, hence its use as a focus for ones intent.

Never point your wand at someone without the intention of healing, or to bring about positive change. Also, never without their permission.

A good wand can be a very powerful partner in any work of energy. Always thank your wand and those who are working through the wand for their healing efforts. Take care of your wand and be sure to cleanse it after each use. It can be cleansed using a smudge stick of some sort i.e. sage or palo santo. You may also use your breath to blow down the entire wand removing any residual negative energy. Another alternative cleansing method is by using visualization to visualize the wand being cleared of its negative energies.

As I mentioned before, there is no wrong or right way to use your wand. Feel free to experiment or research other techniques. I highly recommend speaking a simple affirmation before any energetic process, enabling that what will take place will only be for the highest good of yourself and the person receiving.

I hope I was able to clarify any questions and provide you with simple techniques to start your wand and healing journey. Your wand is a magical and powerful tool used for positive change in many aspects of ones life. Always work in love and be responsible.

"My word is my wand and I wave on the forces of goodness,

inviting them into my life and into the lives of others”

Love, light and Crystal Blessings! Don't forget to follow your intuition and have fun!
